Museu Paulista (Ipiranga)

da Universidade de São Paulo

The Paulista Museum, popularly referred to as the Ipiranga Museum (after the neighborhood where it is located), was built in the late 19th century to commemorate Brazil's independence (in 1822). Today it holds a large collection of material which documents the state of São Paulo's role in Brazil's history.
