Geographic

São Paulo’s complex geography consists of over 2000 neighborhoods (bairros), organized into 96 districts and 31 prefectures. The majority of the cultural institutions in this directory, however, are concentrated in the Centro (historic downtown), along Avenida Paulista, in Ibirapuera Park, and on the Universidade de São Paulo (USP) campus.

Neighborhood names are given in parentheses.
